DR. PAUL R. BLACK
For nearly 40 years, Dr. Black has owned and operated a private dental practice in the Quad Cities. His work has focused on advanced restorative and cosmetic techniques in a beautiful, all-digital office known as Perfect Impressions Dental Center in Bettendorf, IA. Dr. Black has always been dedicated to learning the newest technologies and practices to improve his patients’ health and grow their smiles from the inside out. He’s been happy to share what he learns with his peers, by serving on Invisalign’s Speaker’s Bureau and educating other dentists throughout the country on the utilization of clear aligners for their patients. He continues to be a leader in clear aligner technologies with OrthoFx by serving in an advisory capacity through patient delivery.
It is through continuing education and advancements in dentistry along with the desire to implement a more holistic health approach that Dr. Black added dental sleep medicine. After extensive training, certification, and becoming a Diplomate for the American Sleep and Breathing Academy, he introduced Bettendorf Sleep. Dr. Black displays the utmost detail by examining each patient’s airway. Frequently, he works with the patient and their physicians to incorporate the best sleep solutions and achieves an extremely high success rate by using the most advanced methods from in-home sleep tests through the best sleep appliances, follow-up, and monitoring. Ultimately, he works diligently to ensure each patient can potentially extend their daily life with a better night’s sleep.
Dr. Black grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago and has lived in the Quad Cities since he came here for college in 1970. Dr. Black earned his undergraduate degree in economics and business from Augustana College in 1974. He went on to work for International Harvester until 1979. Then decided he wanted to go into healthcare and help people improve their wellness. Dr. Black returned to Augustana for two years of postgraduate science, then went to the University of Iowa School of Dentistry.
Today, Dr. Black remains dedicated and loyal to the Quad Cities community and beyond by concentrating his dental and sleep medicine practice on growing smiles from the inside out. Dr. Black remains active with Augustana College including serving on the Advisory Board for the new Center for the Advancement of Community Health and Wellness. His other hobbies include being an extensive international and national traveler while enjoying golf, snow skiing and community ice hockey.

Sleep Coordinator for Bettendorf Sleep
Throughout Crystal’s more than 10 years working as Dr. Black’s RDH, she continually demonstrates her dedication with building patient relationships, helping them achieve their dental goals and plans, and recently has become the Sleep Coordinator for Bettendorf Sleep.
When not in the office, Crystal enjoys being with friends, playing volleyball, coaching higher level gymnastics and spending time with her family and dogs.

PAM LAWRENCE
Office Coordinator for Bettendorf Sleep and Perfect Impressions
For over 28 years, Pam does more than schedule appointments. She assists Dr. Black’s patients with everything from setting their dental profiles to processing insurance and managing follow-up procedures for all the staff.
When not in the office, Pam is a huge Iowa Hawkeye fan and enjoys dining out while experiencing different cuisines with her husband family and friends.
